How to calculate a percentage?
X% of Y is found by multiplying: Y × X / 100. To find what percent X is of Y, divide X / Y and multiply by 100. The percentage change from A to B is (B − A) / A × 100.
How it is calculated
Formula
a% of b = (a ÷ 100) × b; what percent a is of b = (a ÷ b) × 100; change a → b = ((b − a) ÷ a) × 100.
Example
20% of 150 = 30. 30 is 20% of 150. Change 150 → 180 is +20%.
