Methodology and sources

Each calculator shows the formulas and rates behind the calculation. The tax and benefit calculators are based on official Estonian rates.

Sources: Tax and Customs Board (EMTA), Social Insurance Board, Health Insurance Fund and Transport Administration. Exchange rates come from the European Central Bank (live).

Some calculators (e.g. holiday pay, parental benefit, car tax, sick leave) are simplified and marked as estimates - the exact amount is confirmed by the relevant authority.

The calculators are informational and do not replace advice from an accountant, lawyer or official source. They are not financial advice.
