Converting currencies
Choose the source and target currency and enter an amount. Rates are quoted against the euro and are indicative - the actual exchange rate depends on the bank and changes daily.
How it is calculated
Formula
amount in the target currency = amount × (target rate ÷ source rate). Rates come from the European Central Bank and change daily.
Example
100 € × rate 1.08 → 108 USD (at a rate of 1.08).
Frequently asked questions
Where do the exchange rates come from?+
The rates come from the European Central Bank's published daily rates and update every day.
Does the calculator include exchange fees?+
No. It shows the market rate; banks and exchange offices often add their own fee.
Where do the exchange rates come from?+
The calculator uses European Central Bank (ECB) reference rates, updated on working days. If a fresh rate is unavailable, the last known rate is used and its date is shown.
Do banks and exchange offices use these rates?+
No - the ECB reference rate is a market mid-rate. Banks and exchanges add their margin, so actual buy/sell rates differ somewhat.
How often do the rates update?+
The ECB publishes reference rates every working day around 17:15 CET. On weekends and holidays the last working day rate applies.
Is the calculator suitable for accounting?+
Estonian accounting uses ECB daily rates, so it works as a guide. For official records, verify the specific day rate on the ECB or Eesti Pank website.
