How is the benefit calculated?
The basis is your average pay per calendar day: 9 months of wages (excluding the last 3 months of employment) divided by 270. The first 100 days pay 60%, from day 101 it is 40%. In 2026 the minimum is 14.77 € and the maximum 101.27 € per calendar day (67.51 € from day 101). Duration depends on the insurance record: under 5 years - 180 days, 5-10 years - 270 days, over 10 years - 360 days. The benefit is gross; income tax is withheld.
